Volcano Time is the new stage spectacle from Kate McIntosh diving into the curious experience of collective emotion. How does feeling erupt through a group? Can it flow from person to person and escalate? What sparks attention or calms tension?

Volcano Time experiments explosively with theatrical glitter and mystery, blending smoky entertainment with amateur biology to probe what makes human nervous-systems tune together, how affects crystalise, and how folks get tangled or soothed in their mood.

McIntosh always treats performance as a public gathering, with a sharp focus on the live connection between people. After many years of making immersive performances, Volcano Time returns her work to the frontal stage - but invites spectators to experiment with their senses, tune to the subtle energy of the crowd, and question how collective emotion might fire resilience.
